TriQuint Deploys AWR EDA Software in Design Centers; Microwave Office and VSS Design Suites To Be Used for Continuous Design Process Improvement in MMIC Products
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Feb. 28, 2005—
Applied Wave Research, Inc. (AWR(R)), a leading provider
of high-frequency electronic design automation (EDA) tools, today
announced an agreement with TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (Nasdaq:TQNT)
to add AWR's Microwave Office(R) and Visual System Simulator(TM) (VSS)
software to the company's EDA tool set used in the Hillsboro, Oregon
and Nashua, New Hampshire design centers. The design suites will be
used as part of TriQuint's ongoing efforts to improve the development
of its components, which are used in a wide array of advanced
communications applications throughout the world.
TriQuint, a recognized world leader in gallium arsenide (GaAs)
monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) technology, offers an
unparalleled selection of radio-frequency (RF), microwave and
millimeter-wave integrated circuits (ICs) and modules used in mobile
phones and base station infrastructure, and GaAs IC foundry services
covering frequencies through 80 GHz.
"TriQuint is committed to a philosophy of continuous improvement
in our products, in our processes, and in our design tools," said Paul
Litzenberg, engineering manager at TriQuint. "AWR's products have
proven to be a welcome part of our design approach to delivering
cutting-edge products, in a timely fashion, to our customers. The
seamless integration of Microwave Office and VSS software in one
platform gives us the ability to simulate and lay out our power
amplifier designs. We can use traditional microwave techniques, and
then co-simulate with actual, complex system signals to look at
adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) and error vector magnitude (EVM)."
"TriQuint is one of the premier global providers of RF/microwave
components and foundry services, and AWR looks forward to the
continuation and expansion of our long-standing relationship," said
AWR president and CEO, James Spoto. "We are pleased that the unique
and comprehensive AWR Design Environment(TM) with its unified data
model architecture meets TriQuint's design challenges and will help
improve the design of TriQuint's MMIC products."
